Promise B Mae is a CEO, media mogul, and visionary force to be reckoned with. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, she was raised by her grandmother and learned discipline, creativity, and leadership from a young age. As the oldest of four on both her mother’s and father’s sides, she naturally stepped into leadership roles early—roles she still carries with her today.

An active and ambitious child, Promise filled her days with extracurriculars and community involvement. She ran track, danced on two different teams, and cheered both at school and church. She sang in the choir, performed praise dance, gave Easter speeches, acted in Christmas plays, and participated in Vacation Bible School every year. Her early life was a nonstop cycle of activity that shaped her into the resilient, fearless woman she is today. She often reflects on the simple song, “This Little Light of Mine, I’m Gonna Let It Shine,” which still drives her outlook on life and business. Guided by her faith, she lives by the scripture “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” a truth she has proven through her ability to build multiple thriving businesses.
Promise’s story, however, extends far beyond entrepreneurship. For years, she was the full-time caregiver for her mother after she suffered a stroke. It was one of the most difficult and humbling chapters of her life, requiring patience, strength, and love. There was even a day she awoke to find her mother not breathing and had to resuscitate her—an experience she calls the scariest moment of her life. Through it all, she honored her mother with devotion, proving her resilience in the face of fear and hardship. After years of caregiving, she entrusted her mother’s ongoing care to her other children—her siblings—so she could pursue her own calling to build something greater for herself, her family, and her community.
In addition to being a caregiver, Promise has long been an activist. She has led protests, spoken at city council meetings, and stood at the front lines of the Black Lives Matter movement, fighting for justice and amplifying the voices of her community. Her activism is deeply intertwined with her entrepreneurial spirit—both rooted in courage, fearlessness, and a drive to create lasting change.
Recognizing that her ventures were not scattered, but instead extensions of her vision, Promise created Promise Empire Group—an umbrella brand tying together her powerhouse businesses across entertainment, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle.
